Alison’s current non-executive portfolio focuses on continuous improvement, high quality customer service and good regulation.

Alison is a lay member of the OLC Board and the chair of RemCo. Her current non-executive portfolio focuses on transformative change, high quality customer service and good regulation. 

It includes Non-executive Board roles at: the Office of the Public Guardian and the Fire Standards Board, as well as independent regulatory roles at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Previous Non-executive/independent roles include the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Phone-paid Services Authority and the General Optical Council.

In her Executive career, Alison was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Nursing and Midwifery Council with a business wide remit. Previously as Senior Programme Director at Hewlett Packard, Alison led delivery of significant IT systems to enhance operational performance. Prior to that as a Senior Civil Servant in the MOD, she led delivery of a technology enabled major transformation programme, and subsequently led highly sensitive operational delivery of services to support injured military personnel and bereaved families.

Alison is also currently a Non-Legal Member of the Employment Tribunal (E&W) and provides independent support/training on coaching and mentoring, as part of Leadership Development Programmes.
