Scheme rules 2012

Scheme rules 2012

final-draftWhen we consulted on the first scheme rules, we made a commitment to review the rules within 18 months of the opening of the Ombudsman scheme. With the benefit of operational experience, we re-examined the rules and ran a public consultation between March and June 2012. During this time we received written submissions from stakeholders and held a series of consultation events.

You can read the consultation and draft scheme rules here (pdf opens in new window).

Our response to the feedback we received and a revised copy of our draft scheme rules can be found here (pdf opens in new window).

Our proposals have now been submitted to the Lord Chancellor and subject to gaining formal approval, and the orders being laid in Parliament, we hope to implement the revised rules early 2013.
