The Office for Legal Complaints (OLC) operates the complaints scheme set up under the Legal Services Act 2007 (primarily Part 6) which provides a free, independent service to consumers looking for help with legal service complaints at second tier, the first tier being the professional service provider. The Scheme is known as the Legal Ombudsman (LeO) and is operated under Scheme Rules (currently January 2015). It wishes to engage an independent service complaint adjudicator (SCA) to consider service complaints about LeO when the current SCA comes to the end of their term.
