News in Brief

Strategy and Business Plan consultation 2020-23

We are now consulting on our next three year strategy (2020-23) and one year business plan (2020-21). Details of the consultation can be found here.

The strategy focuses on two key areas which we know are important to our stakeholders: ensuring that the customer journey is as efficient as it can be, and investing in our learning and insight work so that we can share a wider range of information about complaints handling with the sector.

Transparency discussion paper

We have published a discussion paper to gather wider thoughts on what we can do to be more transparent about our processes. The paper has been published on our website and we are inviting all stakeholders to share their views with us.

Law Society podcast

With the recent changes to the SRA Standards and Regulations we have worked with the Law Society to present a podcast which looks at how we will respond to complaints about freelance solicitors and those working in unregulated entities. Listen to the podcast here.

Complaints alleging negligence

We have published guidance on Complaints alleging negligence. The guidance sets out our jurisdiction and approach to these cases. Read the guidance here.

Annual complaints data

The annual complaints data for 1 April 2018 - 31 March 2019 is available on our website.

We share data on areas such as: who complained to us, volume of complaints by area of law, what complaints were about, and remedies for complaints.

A report on the annual data will be available soon.

Upcoming courses

We will be delivering courses in Dorchester on 4 February and in Cardiff on 11 March. Register your interest here -
