Darren started his career in retail management before qualifying as a solicitor (presently non-practising) Darren spent many years working in private practice where he gained a wealth of experience in conveyancing, property and land law issues.
Darren believes that the strong customer service ethos that he initially gained from retail, and later from private practice, combined with his practical legal experience benefit him in understanding the unique issues that can affect consumers in the modern day legal sector.
Darren has worked at the Legal Ombudsman since 2010, during which time he has gained considerable experience of dealing with and resolving complaints about lawyers. As well as his work as an Ombudsman, Darren also leads the Legal Ombudsman’s internal conveyancing and property group.
Darren has previously acted as a mentor to students at the University of Wolverhampton and has participated in planning the content of courses aimed at training new lawyers to ensure that the course content reflects the realities of the modern legal sector.
