The customer assessment tool is a recent pilot by the Legal Ombudsman, which we hope will help you determine whether or not we might be able to help you. There will be an opportunity for you to provide feedback
What is an authorised person?
Someone authorised to carry out a reserved legal activity, such as:
Chartered legal executives;
Registered European lawyers;
Trade mark attorneys.
The most common regulators we deal with are:
The Law Society, through the Solicitors Regulation Authority (for solicitors);
The Bar Council, through the Bar Standards Board (for barristers), and
The Claims Management Regulator (for claims management services).
However, we are able to accept complaints about service providers who are covered by a number of different regulators. Please see here for a full list
You can contact us by telephone, post and email. We can also provide information in another language or in another format such as large print, Braille or audio CD.
