Nick Hawkins has begun his role as Chief Executive of the Legal Ombudsman. Nick, a qualified barrister, joins us from the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
Prior to this he spent 15 years in the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) as Chief Crown Prosecutor. He earlier served 22 years in the Royal Navy, retiring in the rank of Commander in 1999, after setting up the independent Naval Prosecuting Authority. He is also a visiting professor at the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Portsmouth.
Nick said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Legal Ombudsman. This is an exciting and challenging role, which delivers an important service to consumers and regulated legal service providers. I look forward to working with the team in Birmingham to further enhance the service they provide.”
