Complain Online

We’ll ask you some initial questions to check you are eligible to bring your complaint to us. If you are eligible, you’ll be able to complete our online complaint form. Completing your complaint form online is the quickest way for us to assess your complaint.

How to complete the complaint form

The online complaint form will take about 30 minutes for you to complete. Please have details about your complaint to hand before you start. We’ll ask you for some key dates about your complaint such as the date you instructed your legal service provider, when you became aware of the issues you’re complaining about, when you complained and when you received a response about your complaint from your service provider. We’ll also ask you to provide evidence of your complaint and the response from your service provider, so please have these to hand.

Our timelines

We’ll email you once we’ve processed your online complaint form. It can take up to 12 weeks for us to do this.

Make a complaint online

We want to make sure that we are the right people to help with your complaint. To be sure we ask you to fill out this questionnaire.

Before you do that, we need to explain what we are able to help with. At the Legal Ombudsman, we can only deal with complaints about providers of legal services who are regulated as not all providers of legal services are.

Those most likely to be regulated are solicitors, barristers, legal executives, and licensed conveyancers. For the full list click here.

In most cases, you must first raise the complaint with the person who provided you with the legal service before you come to us but we appreciate that sometimes that is difficult or impossible.

You will need to provide personal information and documents, which include evidence of your initial complaint to your legal service provider and their response.

If you can’t complete the complaint form online, you can download a paper copy after you’ve answered some initial questions and you are eligible to complain. If you need help to complain, please visit Contact us.

Gwneud cwyn ar-lein

Rydyn ni am wneud yn siŵr mai ni yw'r bobl iawn i helpu gyda'ch cwyn. I fod yn siŵr, rydym yn gofyn i chi lenwi'r holiadur hwn. Cyn i chi wneud hynny, mae angen i ni esbonio'r hyn y gallwn ni ei helpu ag ef. Fel yr Ombwdsmon Cyfreithiol, rydym ond yn gallu delio â chwynion am ddarparwyr gwasanaethau cyfreithiol sy'n cael eu rheoleiddio yn unig, gan nad yw pob darparwr gwasanaethau cyfreithiol yn cael eu rheoleiddio. Y rhai sy'n fwyaf tebygol o gael eu rheoleiddio yw cyfreithwyr, bargyfreithwyr, gweithredwyr cyfreithiol a thrawsgludwyr trwyddedig. I weld y rhestr lawn, cliciwch yma.

Yn y rhan fwyaf o achosion, yn gyntaf mae'n rhaid ichi godi cwyn gyda'r person a roddodd y gwasanaeth cyfreithiol i chi cyn i chi ddod i ni, ond rydym yn gwerthfawrogi bod hynny'n anodd neu'n amhosibl weithiau.

Bydd angen i chi ddarparu dogfennau a gwybodaeth bersonol, sy'n cynnwys tystiolaeth o'ch cwyn wreiddiol i'ch darparwr gwasanaeth a'u hymateb.

Os na allwch lenwi’r ffurflen gwyno ar-lein, gallwch lawrlwytho copi papur ar ôl i chi ateb rhai cwestiynau cychwynnol a’ch bod yn gymwys i gwyno. Os oes angen help arnoch i gwyno, ewch i Cysylltu â ni.
