Case study 14 – PPI – lack of updates

Miss R instructed a claims management company (CMC) in August 2012 to assist with a claim
for mis-sold payment protection insurance (PPI) on a loan. The claim was rejected by her bank.
Following this, Miss R went for an account review and the bank advised her to make any future PPI
claims directly with them. The bank then reviewed all her loans, including the one being claimed
against by the CMC. A refund was made. When the CMC discovered this, it made a request for its
fees.
