About the Legal Ombudsman

The Legal Ombudsman is undergoing significant change in its business processes, staffing model, IT systems and ways of working through a programme known as ‘Modernising LeO’ which will move into a second phase from April 2018.

Building the organisation’s programme and project management capability, and developing much stronger corporate planning, performance management and co-ordination is a key priority of the organisation’s new Chief Executive.

A small portfolio management office (PMO) will be created to provide specialist programme and project management resources to support both Modernising LeO and delivery of LeO’s business plan commitments, ensuring good corporate governance. The scope of the PMO is expected to evolve over time.

The Role

This role reports to the Head of IT and you will work directly with the CEO and will need to be skilled in building close working relationships with the Chief Legal Ombudsman, Director of Operations and heads of corporate functions (Finance, IT, HR and Legal).

The successful candidate will bring effective leadership, be able to demonstrate ability to manage programmes, be effective in business planning and developing performance management frameworks and have a solid understanding of good corporate governance and be able to apply it.

You must be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver effective organisational change and in turn be able to communication effectively both verbally and in writing.

It is essential that the successful candidate can work independently, is able to work in a matrix environment and is comfortable with ambiguity.
